Losing weight is easy to start and easy to overdo: eat too little and you can lose muscle and strength along with the fat. Mitta keeps you lifting, sets a moderate deficit with a high protein target and follows your weight trend, to help you hold on to muscle while you lose weight.

Three steps from signing up to your first session.

Why it works for you
To keep muscle while you lose fat, you need a reason to keep it (lifting), enough protein and a deficit that isn’t too big. Mitta aims for all three: your training keeps its targets, protein is set at 2.2 g per kg, and the default pace is around half a percent of your body weight a week. These are general guideline numbers, not advice for you personally.

Keep strength training, eat enough protein and keep the deficit moderate. Mitta aims for all three: your training keeps its targets, protein is 2.2 g per kg and the default pace is around 0.5% of your body weight a week.
Mitta’s default is about half a percent of your body weight per week, with a moderate deficit. If you lose faster than 1% a week, your targets don’t go lower.
With Pro, your food follows your training: Mitta moves some of your carbs to lifting days and takes them from rest days. On Free you have one daily target.
Not always. The coach does not propose a weight-loss goal when your BMI is under 18.5, or after something you wrote pointed to an eating disorder. Then you get a support card instead of advice. Mitta can miss signs, so if eating or weight worries you, talk to your doctor.
