Who it’s for/Strength training for women

Strength training for women, without the myths.

For most people, lifting weights does not make you bulky, and you don’t need a special pink programme. You need a good plan, weights that slowly go up and enough food. Mitta gives you all three, built from your own goal and data.

Not sure what to do in the weights area

So you stay on the treadmill or with the light dumbbells.

Afraid of getting bulky

You’ve heard it so often that you keep the weights light, and see little change.

Why it works for you

Muscle is built slowly, and that’s the point.

Building muscle takes months of steady work and enough food, so “too bulky” doesn’t happen by accident. Many women notice first that they get stronger. Mitta plans the steady work and sets food targets that fit your body, so you don’t undereat while you train.

  • Targets for your bodyCalories use your weight, height, age and sex; protein your body weight.
  • Enough proteinA daily target from your body weight, shown as you log.
  • No crash dietsA calorie floor and a steady pace when you want to lose fat.

Built in for you

A calorie floor

Mitta’s targets stay above 1,200 kcal, or 1,500 for men.

Help first

Write something that sounds like an eating disorder and you get a support card instead of advice. If you are pregnant, recently gave birth or have a health condition, talk to your doctor or midwife before you start. Mitta is not medical advice.

Questions about
strength training for women

Will lifting weights make me bulky?

Not by accident. Building muscle takes months of steady training and enough food. What many women notice first is that they get stronger.

Should women train differently from men?

The basics are the same: a good plan, weights that go up over time and enough food and sleep. Mitta uses the same method for everyone and calculates your food targets for your body.

How many days a week should I lift?

Two or three days is a great start. Mitta builds full-body sessions for that, and more days are possible too.

Can I start at home?

Yes. Choose dumbbells at home or no equipment, and the plan uses only that.
