The rest timer between two sets

What changed

  • Felt easy (three or more reps left, and more than the target): a step heavier, with the reps adjusted to match
  • Harder than expected (at least two reps fewer left than the target): keep the weight and aim a rep or two lower
  • On track: nothing changes and nothing is said
  • Not in a light week, not when you flagged pain, and not for bodyweight, AMRAP, drop or to-failure sets
  • If you change the next set yourself, your change wins
